Hey did you noticed that the World Map of Sonic Lost Worlds resembles a lot the map of Sonic Advance 2?

In that they both seem to have ice, magma, forest, and canyon zones? Perhaps, but those are very popular zone types for Sonic. It also resembles the Little Planet quite a bit.

It’ll be interesting to see whether this “lost world” has anything to do with previous Sonic games, or if it’s a totally new thing.

Since Sonic Lost World is definitely real, we’re now entering that time when a whole lot of rumors and spoilers will be flying around. I’ll only be posting the ones that have official news backing them up, but, in order to guard against spoilers for those who don’t want things revealed, I’ll try to place everything about Sonic Lost World under read-mores until the games’ release (likely November). Furthermore, everything about the game will have the tag “Sonic Lost World”, so feel free to blacklist it. And now for some tiny tidbits that were accidentally leaked on the Sonic Facebook this morning

Three photos from the game, including the well-known one of the world itself, were leaked. Some more information:

-Full details about the game will be announced on the 29th

-“The game has six “guardians” who may be friends or foes - only their outlines are shown”

The two extra photos were taken down, but may have been saved by followers on the FB page. I’ll post them as soon as they show up again. I know this post is pretty empty of information, so stay tuned for that announcement on the 29th!

Info I’ve gathered so far (man these things sneak up on you!) from Retro and Stadium:

-Sonic Lost World will be the next main series Sonic title. It is WiiU/Nintendo3DS exclusive. More info here, but there’s not much, only the previously posted piece of art. The world seems to contain multiple, differently-themed zones as usual, but no word on gameplay. More details will be released before E3.

-Nintendo and SEGA have created an exclusive partnership for the Sonic the Hedgehog series. What does this likely mean? Over the years to come, major Sonic titles are planned for Nintendo consoles only. I emphasize the word planned. Nintendo will have the next three major Sonic titles to themselves, with no cross-platform sharing. However, smaller digital titles will likely still be seen on other platforms, and there is no word about whether SONY/Microsoft will get their own exclusives (my guess is no). More info here.

-Mario & Sonic at the 2014 Winter Olympics has also been announced, and of course, it will be WiiU/3DS exclusive. Whether it will be modeled after Sochi like the London game or not is unknown, but so far it looks just like the original MS Winter Olympics game. Many screenshots can be seen here.

-One Sonic game other than the last two has also been announced, though its title has not been revealed yet. It may be revealed at E3 (or any time, really).

I’ll do my best to keep you guys as updated as possible on the situation, especially in regards to Sonic Lost World.
